Inspired by a traditional Variety Show, “A Celebration of Gloucestershire” will celebrate the talents of those who live in the county through a varied programme involving performers from all four corners of Gloucestershire. From Lydney Town Band to Cotswold Morris Dancers and the Stroud symphony orchestra, the whole county will be represented.
The money raised from the retiring collection will go to the In Tune campaign for Cathedral music and the Anne Cadbury Fund which supports apprentices.
About the In Tune Campaign: In Tune is the Cathedral's most ambitious music campaign to date and aims to raise £3 million by 2026 to fund the rebuilding of the Cathedral’s famous organ and a variety of exciting initiatives to unlock musical potential and opportunity across the city, county and diocese.
About the Anne Cadbury Fund: In Memory of Anne Cadbury, the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire created an Apprentice Award which was launched in 2022. The award is designed to help, support and develop, craft and agriculture apprentices during their training, by providing funds to purchase much needed equipment to further their career. The Honourable Company presents approximately 15 awards every year, including to two of Gloucester Cathedral’s stonemasons.
