Threads: Curators Guided tour

Thursday 26th September - Saturday 28th September

Gloucester Cathedral , College Green, GL1 2NE
As part of Threads 2024 local groups have been both commissioned and invited to submit quilts that respond to the theme of belonging.
Quilts are often seen as a domestic, decorative object but they can be so much more.. they're an opportunity to start conversations as works of art,  they explore what it means to be part of a community, and they can tell the stories of ourselves and others.

The quilts that are on display as represent a number of local communities and groups, including works from neuro diverse artists, to local bell ringers. Join Threads curator and local textile artist Jo Teague for a guided tour of the work produced and gain an insight into the communities behind the quilts, and the techniques used.

This event will last roughly 45 minutes. Please meet Jo near the Welcome desk inside the Cathedral.
This event is free, booking is required.

We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.
There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.
However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.
